Brighton Marine Rescue Is Looking For New Members
Brighton Marine Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization helping boaters in distress. If you are looking for an exciting, and rewarding volunteer opportunity, we are looking for new members who have the following basic requirements:
Be reasonably fit, at least 18 years of age, and a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
An interest in becoming an active team member in a volunteer organization
The time and willingness to participate in training and taskings. Be able to commit a few hours of service per week during the boating season (April - October)
Reside within a 30-minute response time of our vessel's dock (Bay Street Marina - Brighton)
Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) and basic boating knowledge/experience
Radio Operators Certificate Maritime (ROC-M) (Obtainable within 1st year of membership)
Transport Canada approved standard first aid training (Obtainable within first 2 years of membership)
Be able to pass a criminal record screening
We hold weekly training sessions during the boating season and all required training will be provided by Brighton Marine Rescue.
If you are not able to help perform rescues on water, you can still help! If you have public relations, fundraising, mechanical, or other skills, you can be a valuable non-crew addition to the team.
